Creating Effective Grassroots Alternatives works to support the sustainable democtratic development of disadvantaged communities
based on citizen participation in finding solutions to local problems.
C.E.G.A. is a non-profit organisation
registered under the Bulgarian Persons and Family Act in 1995 and re-registered
in 2002 according to the new Act on legal entities with non-profit purposes as
an organisation working for public benefit.
C.E.G.A.
invests in the assets of organisations and initiative groups providing for
their participation in the transformation of their communities. It is an
action-oriented organisation, working in two main areas:
Main fields of
work:

Development of
disadvantaged communities through:

Support of
civic initiatives and organizations through capacity building, support on needs
assessment, planning and implementation of initiatives, providing access to
information and funds;

Support of
local authorities and bodies for social inclusion of disadvantaged communities
through
consultations, capacity building, mediation on developing policies with the
participation of the communities and all stakeholders;
·
Development of
policies for social inclusion of disadvantaged communities on local and
national level.

Cooperation for
international development through:

Advocacy on
applying Official Development Assistant in Bulgaria;
·
Promoting
Development Education in Bulgaria through capacity building and networking of
teachers and young people;
